PASTIL
PASTIL (Maguindanao), It is a Muslim delicacy which is basically a steamed rice topped with meat flakes such as fish, chicken or beef and is wrapped with banana leaf.
The meat flakes are cooked with salt, pepper and soy sauce then topped over steamed rice wrapped in fresh banana leaf.
The most popular topping is chicken flakes.
Pastil has become famous for people on the go and for students on a budget.
Pastil cost ranges up to Php5 to Php10, so students on budget can have as much as 5 wraps in one sitting. But for me, two wraps is enough to satisfy my appetite.
